Rare 19th century Welsh folk art straw work and watercolour picture of Conwy, depicting Conwy Bridge, Tube and Castle. Inscribed in ink, with train entering the bridge and tube, with ships and a paddle steamer. Mahogany frame with gilt slip. Provenance: From The Hon. Sir William McAlpine Collection. The National Museum of Wales, St Fagans, Cardiff holds two similar pictures in its collection. Straw work pictures of this type were produced in an asylum in N. Wales as therapy for the patients.
