A Black Forest linden wood bear armchair, the arched back carved with a climbing bear, the arms terminating in carved bear heads and the legs with peeping bears gazing out of hollowed trunks. ** See Swiss Carvings - The Art of the 'Black Forest' 1820 - 1940 plate 239 for an identical chair.
