A remarkable little table from South Wales. You’d expect it to be made from oak. It has all the country charms of a Welsh side table, but it has been made with sophisticated rosewood, albeit sawn in an unsophisticated manner. Exotic woods from South America and the Caribbean would regularly be shipped into the South Wales ports and I guess some boards made their way to a country furniture man’s workshops. Even without its obvious charms, the heart cut out makes this table stand out.
