Noah's Ark Tripod Table

A delightful carved walnut tripod table.

The table top is carved with a central Noah's Ark and surrounded by exotic animals entering the Ark. 

The table bears the following label: "A Cluet a gift from Lady Victoria Herbert"

The 1939 British census for 20 Talbot Square London W2 shows Alice C. Cluet as a housemaid to Lady Victoria Herbert. 

Lady Victoria Herbert was the third daughter of Henry Herbert, 4th Earl of Carnarvon. 

The Earl of Carnarvon's country seat is Highclere Castle  -  the location for "Downton Abbey"
